Reuben T. Tinder, 81, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Holland, 108 North Moore street He was born in Seymour, Indiana the son of William and Polly Tinder, February 8, 1862, and had been a resident of Ottumwa for 12 years. Mr. Tinder was a member of the Davis Street Christian church here and of the I.O.O.F. order at Chariton. He is survived by his wife, Ida, and his daughter, Mrs. Holland a son, Frank Tinder of Waterloo, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The grandchildren are Corporal Charles Robert Holland, Camp Grant, Illinois, Richard Thomas Holland of Ottumwa, Mrs. Dora Mae Hartman of Chariton, and Albert and Martha Tinder of Chariton, also four brothers, James and Dock Tinder of Roseville, Illinois, Jack of Monmouth, Illinois and Jake of Peoria, and a sister. Mrs. Martha Dorfe of Keithsburg, Illinois
Funeral services for Reuben T. Tinder, who died Friday evening at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Holland, 108 North Moore street, were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Johnson’s funeral chapel conducted by the Rev. E.L. Frost and the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial was in Memorial Lawn. Pallbearers were Raymond Crowe, Raymond McKim, Sanford Bowen, Jodey Zear, Lester West and Tim Houk.
