Lyman Funeral To Be Wednesday
Funeral services for Harry Lee Lyman, seaman first class in the coast guard who died early Saturday in the Navy hospital in Brooklyn will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the East End Presbyterian church. The Rev. W. J. Creswell will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The Navy Mothers will attend the services in a group and there will be military services at the grave. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until noon tomorrow when it will be taken to the church. Lyman one of six brothers in the armed services, died as the result of an accident when he fell in contact with high tension electric wires. The brothers in the services are; Robert E. Lyman, boatswain’s mate second class in the Navy stationed in Rhode Island, Sergeant Henry C. Lyman on Army maneuvers in Louisiana, James M. Lyman a storekeeper second class in the South Pacific, Gaylord A. Lyman, chief machinist’s mate in the Navy in the South Pacific and William E. Lyman, Coast Guard yeoman second class, stationed at Brooklyn. All the brothers are here for the service expect the two in the South Pacific.
He is survived by another brother Jack R. Lyman, at home and his wife Mrs. Quindola Spurgeon Lyman and a 1 month old daughter, Linda Suzanne Lyman; one sister, Mrs. Mary Alice Atkins of Ottumwa and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Lyman, of 122 south Fellows avenue, James Morton Lyman and three nieces Mary Ellen Lyman, Martha Ruth Lyman and Judith Ann Lyman. The pallbearers will be Glen Shepp, Bruce Hallgren, Laurel Workman, Dave Williams, Vincent Kennedy and Donald R. Fisher.
