E.M. Bowlin, 80, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luella B. Smith, and son, John in San Antonio, Texas, early Monday. Mr. Bowlin was a former Wapello county resident and was born in a log house on Big Cedar creek, north of Ottumwa, January 23, 1863. He lived on the same farm until 1917, when he moved to Minnesota, where he lived for several years. In 1926 he moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he engaged in business with his son, Clyde, until moving in 1935 to San Antonio, where he remained until death. He was married January 6, 1882, to Miss Alice A. Buchanan, who preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Bowlin were the parents of nine children, seven of whom survive; Clyde of Wichita, John and Clifford of San Antonio, Mrs. Ada Barnhill and Mrs. Luella B. Smith of San Antonio, Mrs. Nettie Smith of San Antonio, Mrs. Martha Kirkham of Kansas City. The body was to arrive in Ottumwa today. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Community funeral parlors in charge of the Rev. C.R. Reed of Willard Street Methodist church. Interment will be made in (unable to read)
E. M. Bowlin formerly of Highland Center, died Monday at his home in San Antonio, Texas. The body will arrive in Ottumwa tonight and will be taken to the Community funeral parlors where it will remain pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
