Edgar Reese, 52, a city department employee for 12 years, died Monday at the Veteran hospital in Hines, Illinois. His home here was at 1034 West Main street. He had been ill since early this year. The son of Richard and Mary Reese, he was born in Given , June 15, 1891, Survivors are his wife Mabel; his father of Ottumwa; three brothers, Gwilym and David J. Reese, Mansfield, Ohio, also a niece and a nephew. Reese was a member of O.B. Nelson post, American Legion and the Eagles. The body is arriving in Ottumwa this afternoon and will be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home. Services probably will be held Thursday.
Funeral services for Edgar Reese, who died early Monday at the Hines Veteran hospital, Hines, Illinois, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Lester Jay funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd C. Snyder will have charge of the service and burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Members of the local American Legion post will conduct a military service at the grave. The pallbearers will be Henry Chadwick, Abe Crowe, James Simpson, Dewey McDonough, Lew Gray and Tom Chesser.
