52-Year Resident Of County Is Dead
Mrs. Anna Nordgren, 77, died suddenly at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at her home in Agency. She was the wife of Gust Nordgren of Agency and was the daughter of John and Johanna Johnson. She was born June 19, 1866, in Smoland, Sweden, came to the United States when she was 20 years old and settled in Axiel, Nebraska. She lived in Wapello county, for the past 52 years. She would have celebrated her 53rd wedding anniversary on September 25, 1943. She is survived by her husband, one son and two daughters; Arnold Nordgren, South Bend, Indiana; Mrs. Clarence Courtney, Fairfield and Mrs. Maude Fredericks, at home. She is also survived by one nephew Arnold Lindquist of Sacramento, California. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Nordgren, wife of Gust Nordgren of Agency, who died Thursday night, will be held at the residence in Agency at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and at the Agency Methodist church at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. C.R. Reed of the Willard Street Methodist church in Ottumwa. Burial will be in the Agency cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the residence at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
