Dale Deverne stem, 31, of Richland, died at the University hospital at Iowa City at 11:20 p.m. Friday after six weeks illness. He was he son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmon Stem of Richland and was born two miles east of Fremont, June 11, 1912. He is survived by his parent; his wife, Mabel Westercamp Stem; a daughter, Emma Lou, 4; Willis Dale, seven weeks old; a sister, Mrs. Harold Hibler of Hedrick, and his grandmother, Mrs. Katie Storm at Fremont. Funeral services will be at the Fremont Methodist church at 2 p.m. Monday in charge of the Rev. Hugh Williams of Richland, assisted by the Rev. J. W. Zerbe. Burial will be in Cedar township cemetery. The body will remain at the Community funeral parlors in Ottumwa until 1 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church at Fremont.
