J.M. Neylon, Rail Veteran, Is Dead
James Michael Neylon, 409 West Fifth street, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at the age of 74. Mr. Neylon, a 30-year employee of the Milwaukee railroad was born August 4, 1869 at Homewood, Pennsylvania. He was employed as a switchman, was a member of the switchman’s union No. 59, and of the Milwaukee Veterans association. He also was a charter member of the Holy Name Society of the St. Mary’s parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by a twin sister, Mrs. Agnes McNamara of Ottumwa. The body is at the Moroney funeral home until 8:30 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the St. Mary’s church for rites at 9 o’clock. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. will preside at a requiem high mass. The rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight at the Moroney funeral home by members of the Holy Names society and the Knights of Columbus. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
