A.E. Langdale Dies At Age Of 74
A.E. Langdale, 74, was found dead at 7:10 p.m. Sunday at his home at 1025 West Third street. He was born February 29, 1869, at Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the son of C.R. and Celia C. Langdale. He is survived by the following four brothers; C.W. Langdale, Ottumwa; Ralph Langdale, Waterloo, C.H. Langdale, Ventura, California, and W.W. Langdale, Washington D.C. He had worked for the C.W. Langdale Co. for more than 25 years and was a member of Ottumwa lodge, No. 16, A.F. & A.M. Clinton chapter No. 9 R.A.M. Malta Commandery NO. 31, Knights Templar and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Lester Jay funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John Estes, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery, with a Knights Templar escort and Masonic services at the grave.
