Riley Alfred Logan, 66, died at the Mahaska hospital in Oskaloosa at 5 p.m. Friday after three years; failing health and three months of serious illness. He lived 5 ½ miles northeast of Fremont and had spent the last 20 years in that community. He was born near what Cheer February 4, 1877, the son of Patrick and Sefronia Logan. A sister preceded him in death. He leaves a wife, Lillie; five children, Mrs. Leslie Vanatta of Kingstown, Kansas, Mrs. Charles Braden of Packwood, Zona Gale and William Earl at home; a stepson, Carl Replogle of Washington, Iowa and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Fremont at 3:15 p.m. Sunday in charge of the Rev. J.W. Zerbe and burial will be in the Cedar township cemetery. The body will remain at the Community Funeral parlors in Ottumwa until the time for the service.
