Steven Jacob Paris, 80, died at 10:30 Friday at his home 438 South Davis street. He was born January 23, 1863 in Davis county, the son of Morgan and Elizabeth Paris. He lived in Davis county until five years ago when he moved to Ottumwa. He was married August 28, 1890 in Bloomfield to Mary Orlena Strunk, who survives him. Other survivors are three daughters and one son; Pearl Paris, Mrs. Dora Dell, Mrs. Viola Mairet, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Grace Hansley of Moravia. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and by one sister, Miss Ann Paris of Indiahome, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents. 11 brothers and siters. He was a member of the Christian church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost. Burial will be in the Paris cemetery near Bunch.
