Leonard Doggett, 56, died suddenly at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home 120 South Birch street. He had worked all day and had just arrived at his home when he suffered a heart attack. He was born August 17, 1888, at Seymour the son of Ad and Mary Daggett. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 35 years and for the past 28 years had been employed by the John Morrell & Co. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Daggett; one son Staff Sergeant Glen Daggett with the Army Air Corps in New Guinea; one daughter, Mrs. Marcene Wagner of Ottumwa, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters; Walter Doggett, Milwaukee; Mrs. Hattie Ebby, New York City; Mrs. Len Rogers, and Mrs. Verna Harvey both of Chicago. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Leonard Doggett, who died Tuesday at his home at 129 South Birch street will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. A.D. McClure will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The pallbearers will be Harold Nelson, Dillon Quigley, Carlos Garner, Clarence Jones, Robert Johnson and Otta Goodwin.
