Mrs. Lydia Mattingley, 70, died at 2:30 p.m. today at her home 1904 Bertha street. She was born February 27, 1873 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bailey, and lived in Ottumwa for the past 47 years. She was a member of the East End Christian church. She is survived by the following children; Florence Mattingly, San Francisco; Mrs. Eva McNulty, Hollywood, California; Charles Mattingley, in the Navy; Mrs. Lucille Simmer, James Mattingley and Joseph Mattingley all of Ottumwa. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and fie great grandchildren. Her husband Samuel Mattingley died March 6, 1943, and two sons preceded her in death. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Lydia Mattingley, who died early Monday at her home at 1904 Bertha street, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by E.N. Boyer. The casket was taken to the residence at 1 p.m. today and will be returned to the chapel at noon Thursday.
