Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, 68, of 120 South Schuyler avenue, died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph hospital. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 40 years and was member of the American Legion auxiliary the Ottumwa Woman’s Club and the First Methodist church. She is survived by the following children; Herbert B. Smith, Los Angeles; Rome Smith, Ottumwa, Private Quayle Smith, Camp Hood, Texas, Corporal Charles Smith, Camp Congaree, South Carolina, Staff Sergeant Ted Smith, with the Army in England; and Mrs. Kathryn Doherty, Los Aneles, and Mrs. Betty Bishop, Ottumwa. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and by the following brother and sisters; William H. Roberts, Seattle, Washington, Humphry Roberts, Elmer Roberts, Ellsworth Roberts, Mrs. Winnie Hilder and Mrs. Katie Jones, all of Wymore, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Smith and by two brothers and two sisters. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of 120 South Schuyler street, who died Thursday at 9:05 p.m. will be held at Johnson’s funeral chapel Sunday at 3:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. W.R. Keesey. Burial will be n Ottumwa cemetery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Smith were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel. In the absence of her pastor, who is on vacation, the services were conducted by the Rev. W. R. Keesey. Burial was in Ottumwa cemetery. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Smith, and by two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Etta Campbell of Wymore, Nebraska.
