Oliver Clarence Covert, 56, of Ottumwa route 6, died at 2 a.m. today at the home of his brother Edward E. Covert of Floris route 2. He was born February 18, 1867, in Davis county, the son of Absolum and Margaret Covert. He was a World war veteran and served with the 88th Division overseas. He is survived by the following three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Anna French, Palisade, Nebraska; Hamilton Covert and William Covert both of Ottumwa, and Edward Covert near Floris. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Oliver Covert of Ottumwa, route 6, who died early Monday at the home of his brother, Edward E. Covert of Floris, route 2, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. L. E. Welshons will have charge of the service and burial will be in McIntire cemetery. The American Legion will have charge of a military service at the grave.
