Harry F.N. Jacobs, 85, former employee of John Morrell & Co. died at his home, 320 West Fifth street at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. He retired from the employ of the Ottumwa packing firm in October 1936, having begun work here in 1907. Mr. Jacobs was born in Pennsylvania March 4, 1858 and had been a resident of Ottumwa for 29 years. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Isabella L. Romig of Boyertown, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Rachel K. Rahn of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and a niece Mrs. Delila M. Shaner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife Lena, November 9, 1936. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. Malvin H. Lundeen pastor of the First Lutheran church. Burial will be in Chillicothe, Iowa cemetery.
