Missouri Man Dies Here Of Gun Wound
Vance J. Mankopf, 46, of Memphis, Missouri, route 2, died at the St. Joseph hospital here this morning of a self-inflicted gun shot wound in the head, Coroner Gordon Traul said. Mankopf, a farmer who had been in poor health for the past year, arose about 5:30 a.m. today, went to a summer porch at the rear of the house and shot himself with the .22 caliber rifle. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Survivors include his wife and a daughter. The body was taken to Memphis for services and burial.
