Mrs. Maude Baker Dies Here Friday
Mrs. Maude A. Baker, 62, lifelong resident of Ottumwa, died at 9 p.m. Friday at Ottumwa hospital. Her home was on Ottumwa route 6. The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. L.R. Seybert, she was born September 1, 1880 in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational church and the Daughters of Veterans. Survivors include her husband Lew Baker, a daughter. Mrs. Martha Swaim, Ottumwa; two grandsons, Gary and Terry Swaim, Ottumwa and three sisters; Mrs. Jennie Hodge Walters, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Len Wiggins and Mrs. Emma Peach both of Casper, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Dora, Nellie and Pearle. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Plymouth congregational church conducted by the Rev. George W. Crosby. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until Sunday noon when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service.
