William McIntosh, 64, died after a long illness at 4 p.m. Thursday at his home, 730 North Fellows avenue. He was born in Colchester, Illinois, January 21, 1879 the son of Peter and Abia McIntosh. He was married to Anna Thummer January 26, 1900, in Centerville. The had made their home in Newton until six years ago when they moved to Ottumwa. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Sam Carter of Ottumwa, two sons, Pete and Ted McIntosh, both of Newton, and five grandchildren. Bernadine, Tommie, and Jack Caster of Ottumwa, and Carol Ann and Kay McIntosh of Newton. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Christina Lawton, Des Moines; Mrs. Josephine Ougton, Mystic; R.A. McIntosh, Ottumwa and John McIntosh of Mystic. The body is at the Carroll Reece funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for William McIntosh, who died Thursday afternoon at his home 730 Fellows avenue, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Carroll Reece funeral home. The Rev. R.C. Keagy pastor of the Wesley Methodist church, will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
