Two Aged Residents Of Community Die
Shelby M. Humble, 80 died Sunday at 7:30 a.m. at his home at 813 Clinton avenue, after a short illness. He was born January 14, 1863, at Bladensburg, the son of Susan and Bentley Humble, and had lived in Wapello county all his life. He was married to Miss Sarah Wolfe, October 27, 1887 at Walnut City. She died 10 years ago. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. A.R. McConkey and Mrs. Carroll Reece, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Max Thompson of Chicago; two sons, Emmett and Floyd of Pueblo Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Carter of Ottumwa and Mrs. Cora Boyd of Highland Center; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son and granddaughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Carroll Reece funeral home in charge of Orville Smith, assisted by the Rev. John Hastie. Burial will be in the Bladensburg cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until the time for the services.
