Byron Clossen, 69, of 544 Hamilton street, died at his home at 4:40 p.m. Monday. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Clossen and was born in Louisa county, November 2, 1873. Previous to coming to Ottumwa 20 years ago he made his home on a farm near Packwood. Mr. Clossen was a member of the United Presbyterian church at Winfield. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Earl E. Naylor, New London, Missouri; Irene and Dorothy Clossen, both at home; three brothers, James Clossen, Ottumwa; Charles Clossen, Farson, and B.W. Clossen, Martinsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Evelyn, in 1916, as well as by one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. C.R. Reed, pastor of the Willard Street Methodist church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
