C.H. Barton Dies; Resident 75 Years
Charles H. Barton, 84, died at 10:40 a.m. today at his home of Waverly avenue. He was born August 28, 1858, at Warren, Illinois, and he is survived by the following three sons and four daughters; Mrs. Rosa Baldwin, Compton, California, Mrs. Julia Shelton, San Francisco; Mrs. Maude Twedell and Mrs. Theresa Pottorff, both of Los Angeles; Earl Barton, Compton; Cardie Barton and Harold Barton, both of Ottumwa. Mr. Barton had lived in this community for 75 years and was a longtime member of the local Elks lodge. The body is at the Lester Jay funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Charles H. Barton, who died Thursday morning at his home on Waverly avenue, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Lester Jay funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. W.J. Cresswell. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery.
