Mrs. Leah Davis, 48, wife of Scott Davis, 1228 Monroe Street, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital after a lingering illness. She was born in Van Buren county September 17, 1895 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Pool. She was married December 17, 1913, at Douds, but had made her home in Ottumwa the past 16 years. Survivors include her husband, a son, Donald Davis, Ottumwa; four grandchildren; her mother of Douds; five sisters, Mrs. Althea Elsensohn and Mrs. Ludy Parker, both of Ottumwa, Mrs. Mabel Mercer, Helena, Montana, Mrs. Jessie Plowman, Leando, and Mrs. Mable Kade, Seattle Washington, and two brothers, Fred and George Pool, both of Douds. She was preceded in death by two sons. The body was removed to the Carroll Reece funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Leah Davis , wife of Scott Davis, who died Thursday morning at the St. Joseph hospital, will be held at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Carroll Reece funeral home. The Rev. Z Everett Kellum of the Free Methodist church will be in charge and burial will be at Douds. The Rev. Floyd Simmons will assist. Pallbearers are Donald Pool, Frederick Elsensohn, Kenneth Davis, Grover Elsensohn, Wendell Nicklin and Ennes Stages.
