Andrew Hanson, 82, Veteran Farmer Dies
Andrew Hanson, 82, farmer in this area for 51 years, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at his home, Albia route 2. Born in Sweden November 18, 1860, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hanson. He came to this country in 1881 and direct to the farm on which he has lived ever since. He was a member of the Munterville Luther church for 50 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Selina Reburn, Phoenix, Arizona; two sons Fred Hanson, Albia route 3, and Clarence Hanson, Oskaloosa route 5, six grandchildren and a great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizbeth in 1933; two sons, Harold and Glen, in 1931; a daughter Ella, in 1925 and a grandson Ernest Redburn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Munterville Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Phillip W. Pearson, pastor assistant at the First Lutheran church here. Burial will be in Munterville cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Will Stodghill, Sander Smith, Elmer Larson, Jacob Huber, Herman Johnson and Fred Votaw. The body will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until Friday noon, when it will be removed to the Munterville church.
