George S. Tibball, 72, of 409 North Adella street, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday at the Wapello county hospital. He was the son of James and Adaline Tibball and worn born in Keokuk county, October 2, 1870. He had lived in Ottumwa for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Hedrick Christian church and of the Security Benefit association No. 657. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Tibball, and by the following children; Mrs. Alice Davis, West Plains, Missouri, Mrs. Bertha McCauley, East Moline, Illinois, Mrs. Adaline Bahr, Sexton Iowa, James Henry Tibball, Ottumwa, George Ernest Tibball, Ft. Worth, Texas and Elmer Tibball, West Plains, Missouri. Twenty-one grandchildren and nine-great grandchildren also survive as do two brothers, Richard Tibball of Brighton, Colorado, and Joseph Tibball of Eldorado, Kansas. There are seven surviving stepchildren; Mrs. Eva Wintermote, Belknap, Private Robert Elkins, Camp Maxey, Texas, Mrs. Venice Davolt, Mrs. Orlee Fuller, Mrs. Edith Morrow, Liene Elkins, Earl Elkins, all of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
