Arthur Potter Dies At Age Of 66
Arthur Potter, 66, an employee of the Kent grocery store, died at 12:20 a.m. today at his home, 325 North Marion street, after and illness of one week. He was the youngest son of Harriett and William Potter and was born November 3, 1877, in Ottumwa. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Before going to Kent’s, he was with the Fred Dings grocery concern here. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; a son John Arthur Potter; two brothers, William Potter, Jr. and Alfred Potter, both of Ottumwa, and a sister Mrs. Emma Parlee, Ottumwa. Two brothers and his parents preceded him death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Herbert A. Keck D.D. and the Rev. John Estes. Burial will be in Memorial lawn cemetery. The body will be taken from the Lester Jay funeral home to the residence late this afternoon and then, in the church parlors at 1 p.m. Monday. Rites were held at 2 p.m. today at the First Methodist church for Arthur Potter, veteran grocery employee who died Saturday morning. The Rev. Herbert A. Keck, D.D. and the Rec. John Estes were n charge with burial in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul A. Sassaman, Ralph Carey, W.D. Farrell, Herbert Booz. Walter Smith and George E. Miller.
