Mrs. Alex Dickerson Freezes To Death Near Her Front Gate
Mrs. Pearl Dickerson, 48, of Newton Street in Central Addition, fell victim of the winter’s severest storm Monday night. Her frozen body was found shortly after 10 a.m. today in the front yard at her home, partially covered with drifted snow. An investigation disclosed that the woman started on an errand about 10:30 p.m. Monday and fell a few feet from the house. Her husband Alex Dickerson sighted the body this morning as he left the house and was about to enter a taxi on route to their daughter’s home. Dickerson told authorities that his wife instructed him to stay home and tend the fire before she left for a nearby store. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl Elkins, Ottumwa, and her mother, Mrs. Clara Hannel, Cleveland.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pear Dickerson, who was found frozen to death Tuesday morning in the yard at her home on Newton street, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Vaughan funeral chapel with the Rev. A.D. McClure in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
