Mrs. Mary E. Masters, 81, years old and a pioneer resident of the Fremont community, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the Bollinger nursing home at 605 East Second street. She was born May 19, 1861, near Eddyville, the daughter of John and Mary Elizabeth Pratt. Her home was one mile southeast of Fremont. Mrs. Masters in survived by two sons and six daughters; Mrs. Minnie McCrea, Atlanta, Nebraska, Mrs. J. L. Will, Wright; Mrs. Ira C. Roquet, Fremont; Mrs. John Papanick, Entiat, Washington, Mrs. W.F. Koontz, Hedrick C.R. Webber Cedar; Mrs. O.M. Surber and C.C. Meisters, both of Ottumwa. She is also survived by two step sons, John W. Webber of Sidney and Henry L. Webber of Unionville, Missouri, and by 44 grandchildren and several great greatgrandchildren. The body is at the Community funeral parlors pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Master, 81, who died in Ottumwa January 16, will be held at the Fremont Methodist church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. J.M. Elam of Oskaloosa assisted by the Rev. J. W. Zerbe of Fremont. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and burial will be in Cedar township cemetery north of Fremont. The body will be taken from the Community Funeral Services parlors in Ottumwa to the church at noon Tuesday.
