Mrs. Janet Whitten, 70, of Agency died at 6:20 a.m. today at the home of her brother, John Ferguson, 337 North Sheridan avenue. She was the daughter of William and Margaret Ferguson and was born at O'Fallon, Illinois, May 27, 1872. She was a resident of Ottumwa for 25 years prior to moving to Agency five years ago. She was a charter member of O.E.S. at Astoria, Illinois. Three brothers survive John and P.C. Ferguson of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Whitten by a son, four brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. M. Wyatt of the Agency Methodist church. Burial will be Ottumwa cemetery.
