William Akers, 88, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 1317 Castle street. He was born October 24, 1863 in Volton, England, came to the United States 30 years ago and had lived in Ottumwa practically ever since. He is survived by a brother Thomas in Volton. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Johnson's funeral chapel conducted by the Rev. W.A. Paul of the Missionary Alliance church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
