George Albert Payne 70, died at 2:30 a.m. today at his home on Ottumwa route 4. He was born February 27, 1872 in Chicago, the son of Rufus and Abbie Payne. He came to Ottumwa in 1903 and had lived here since that time. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Payne and by two children, Maurice Payne of Ottumwa and Mrs. Rosemary Styre of Blakesburg, route 2. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. L.E. Welshons.
