Mrs. Lillian Hartley, 71, wife of Charles Hartley, Quinlan and Newton streets died at her home at 7:50 a.m. Sunday. She was the daughter of Robert and Mariah Buchanan and was born in Wapello County March 5, 1871. She lived in this area all her life. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert Hartley of Ottumwa; five daughters, Mrs. Fred Hem and Mrs. Earl Yates, both of Ottumwa, Mrs. Everett McCoy and Mrs. Leonard Burtlow, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. Willard Talley, Pella; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Fran Cottrell, Ottumwa and Mrs. James Ninemier, Milton Vale, Kansas. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Short sevcices will be held at Johnson's funeral chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Pentecostal church in Central addition, conducted by the Rev A.D. McClure assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goodkin. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers..
