50-Year Resident Heart Attack Victim
Mrs. Marion B. Parker, widow of W.S. Parker and a resident of Ottumwa for 50 years, died suddenly of a heart attack on a downtown street, at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. She made her home with Mrs. E.G. Schafer, 129 North Washington street. Mrs. Parker, a native of the Salem, Iowa community was a member of the First Congregational church here. Chapter F.P.E.O. Ottumwa, Chapter 112 Order of the Eastern Star, and Wapello White Shrine. Mr. Parker for many years was the Burlington and Rock Island ticket agent at the union station. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Anna Becker, Salem; three brothers, Dudley Scott, Salem; Herbert Scott, New London and Dell Scott, Ft. Madison; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. John Blough. The body will then be taken to the Elliott funeral home in New London where services will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Forest Home cemetery at Mt. Pleasant.
