Albert D. Wilson Dies At Age Of 78

Albert D. Wilson, above, a life-long resident of this community and former hardware merchant of Ottumwa, died at 10:20 a.m. today at his home, 2002 West Second street. He was 78 years old, the son of Prier and Mary Wilson, and was born on a farm one mile west of Ottumwa. He came to Ottumwa in 1913 and was associated with the Wilson Hardware Co. from 1913 to 1920. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy Wilson, and the following seven children; Fred D. Wilson, Aurora, Illinois, Horace R. Wilson, Cheyenne, Wyoming, O. Clyde Wilson, Sarasota, Florida, Raymond P. Wilson, Lawrence, Kansas, Albert H. Wilson, Mrs. Harriet Wilkinson, and Mrs. Edith Hoskinson, all of Ottumwa. He is also survived by one brother Emra Wilson of Ottumwa, and a sister; Mrs. Jane Arnold of Kansas City, and by 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Albert D. Wilson, former Ottumwa hardware merchant, who died Thursday at his home 2002 West Second street, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Johnson's chapel. The Rev. Harold Roberts of the First Christian church will be in charge and burial will be in the Burns cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home at 5 p.m. today and returned to the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
