Mrs. Anna Oswalt, 75, died at 11:45 a.m. today at the Bollinger nursing home, at 603 East Second street. She was the wife of the late Edward Oswalt, and was born February 7, 1867, in Muscatine county, though she had lived in or near Ottumwa since 1888. She was married June 12, 1894, to Edward Oswalt in Ottumwa, Her husband and two of their five children preceded her in death. Three sons survive, Otto Oswalt of Bloomfield, William Oswalt and Clarence Oswalt, both of Ottumwa. She is also survived by two grandchildren and by one great grandchild. The body will remain at the Vaughan funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Oswalt of 135 South Ash street, who died Saturday at the Bollinger nursing home at 603 East Second street, were held at 9:30 a.m. today from the Vaughan funeral chapel and at 9 o'clock from the Sacred Heart Catholic church where a requiem high mass was celebrated by the Rev. J.H. Courtney. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
