Mrs. Ben Work Dies Friday Night

Mrs. Florence Harper Work, 62, of 821 North Elm street, died at her home Friday at 10:10 a.m. She was the daughter of William and Mary Harper and was born in St. Albans, Vermont, September 9, 1880. She came to Ottumwa in 1888. She was married to Benjamin M. Work June 28, 1911, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death September 4, 1939. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Work Jones; and one sister Miss Beulah Harper, of Ottumwa. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret. Mrs. Work was a member of the First Methodist church. Services will be at the residence 821 North Elm Street at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Herbert A. Keck, D.D. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will remain at Johnson's funeral chapel until 10 a.m. Sunday when it will be taken to the residence. Pallbearers will be John Gilla, Charles C. Ayres Jr. Wilbur Dull, Lee H. Baker, Robert Jones and Franklin Kent.
