Dr. H.H. Webb Dies: Suffered Heart Ailment

Dr. Harold H. Webb, 52, local x-ray technician, died at 1 a.m. today at his home 414 Chester avenue, of a heart ailment with which he had been afflicted for some time. He recently retired from active practice. Dr. Webb was born in New Castle Virginia, April 13, 1890 the son of Albert and Fannie Webb. He was graduated from the New Castle high school in 1906 and received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Maryland in 1912. He married Leonora Waltz in Washington, D.C. in 1913, and took up general practice in Virginia, Tennessee and Pennsylvania, before coming to Ottumwa 10 years ago. He had taken special X-ray training at Cook county hospital in Chicago. He was a member of the Wapello county Medical society, the Iowa State Medical society, the American Board of Radiology, the American College of Radiology and the Radiology Society of America. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Virginia Webb at home, a son, Charles Webb of Washington D.C. a sister, Mrs. A.R. Gminder, Baltimore, Maryland, and two brothers, Herbert Webb of Emporia, Virginia, and Kenneth Webb of New Castle. One son, Harold preceded him in death. The body is at the Carroll Reece funeral home, where it will remain until Thursday noon, when it will be taken to Clifton Forge, Virginia, for funeral services Sunday in the Vermilya funeral home. Burial will be in Clifton Forge.
