Rites Today For Mrs. A.N. Barnes, 93
Funeral services were to be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Elizabeth L. Barnes, widow of Albert N. Barnes, who died at 5 p.m. Saturday at her home 163 Vogel avenue. She would have been 94 years old on November 17. Mrs. Barnes was the oldest member of the First Presbyterian church. She was the daughter of May and Edward Martin and was born in 1848, at Cadiz, Ohio. She was married in Ottumwa to Albert N. Barnes on May 31, 1874. Surviving are four children; Mrs. J.E. Epler of Danville, Illinois, Frank M. Barnes of Chicago, Helen L. Barnes, and Mrs. Horace Williams of Ottumwa; a sister, Mrs. N.J. Stewart of Tucson, Arizona, and two granddaughters. Mrs. W.M. Fairhall of Chicago and Mrs. Guy Shorthouse of Lewiston, Illinois. Funeral services were to be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the First Presbyterian church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Richard Paul Graebel D.D. assisted by the Rev. Louis Matheus of Trinity Episcopal church. Burial was to be in Ottumwa cemetery.
