Mrs. Francis Watkins, former Ottumwan who had lived in Chicago since October of 1940, died Monday morning in Chicago. She was born in Ottumwa, the daughter of John and Hulda Bowles. Surviving are a son, Rex of Ottumwa; three sisters; Elizabeth of Chicago, Mrs. Eva Hagberg of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Charlotte Morris of Des Moines and a brother Walter Bowles of Denver. Mrs. Watkins graduated from Ottumwa high school with the class of 1913. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Lester Jay funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery.
