C.M. Booth Lived In City 52 Years
Clarence M. Booth, 66, of 225 Keota street, died at Ottumwa hospital at 5:10 a.m. today. The son of John T. and Lucinda Booth he was born at Fairfield December 15, 1875. He lived in Ottumwa for the past 52 years and was employed by the Iowa Southern Utilities Co. for 45 years. He was a member of A.F. & A.M. No. 269 and the Low Twelve club. Survivors include his wife Mabel, three daughters, Florence Booth, Mrs. Fred V. Kent and Mrs. Glen Burke all of Ottumwa; three grandchildren Bonnie Burke, Joellyn Kent and Mrs. Russell Harper Jr. all of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Klee of Chicago and Mrs. Della Raephel of Davenport, and a brother Charles E. Booth of Chicago. He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. J.B. Johnson of Wesley Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. Masonic services will be held at the grave.
