Phillip Helfrich Schorr, 80, of 541 South Sheridan avenue died at the St. Joseph Hospital at 5:45 p.m. Sunday. He was a retired Milwaukee employee, having worked 32 years in the freight warehouse on South Jefferson street. Mr. Schorr was born in Vinnegan, Alsace-Lorraine, January 11, 1862. He came to Ottumwa, 51 years ago and had lived at his home on Sheridan avenue over 40 years. Mr. and Mrs. Schorr celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last March. Surviving in addition to his wife, Ida, are four sons, Phil of Toledo, Robert of Chicago, Edwin of Washington D.C. Max of Ottumwa; four daughters, Mrs. Anna O'Brien, Brookfield, Missouri, Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Des Moines, Mrs. Florence Hagist and Esther Schorr of Ottumwa, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lester Jay funeral home, in charge of the Rev. T.C. Donohoe of St. Patrick's Catholic church. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
Funeral services for Phillip Helfrich Schorr, 80, of 501 South Sheridan avenue were held today at 2 p.m. at the Lester Jay funeral home. Burial was in the Shaul cemetery. Mr. Schorr a native of Alsace-Lorraine, came to Ottumwa 51 years ago and had worked for the Milwaukee at the Jefferson street warehouse for 32 years.
