Ottumwan Dies At Kansas City
Melvin Stocker, 61, Milwaukee Railroad Employee, Found Dead In Car
Melvin Stocker 61, veteran Milwaukee railroader, was found dead in his bunk car in the yards at Kansas City, Missouri, today at 7:30 a.m. railroad officials announced here. His home was at 143 North Davis street. Mr. Stocker was a bridge and building carpenter, had served the road in that capacity for the last 30 years, most of the time at Ottumwa. He was born in Appanoose county in 1878. Surviving are his wife, Sarah; a son V.A. Stocker of Ottumwa; two brothers, Gomer and Harry Stocker of Moravia; a half sister, Mrs. E. Wilson of Moravia and a half brother, Tillman Stocker of Albia. The body will arrive here tonight, will be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home.
