Frank Burton, Milwaukee Conductor, Succumbs At 53
Frank H. Burton 53, an employee of the Milwaukee railroad for the past 21 years, died at his home, 1830 West Second street, at 8:30 a.m. today. He has been a conductor for the railroad in recent years. Mr. Burton was the son of Samuel H. and Rhoda Burton and was born in Wapello county where he lived his entire life. He was a member of the First Lutheran church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, No. 737, and the Knights of the Pythias, No. 12. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a son Samuel H. of Davenport and a brother, Claude Burton of Seattle, Washington. The body was removed to Johnson's funeral chapel pending arrangements. Funeral services for Frank H. Burton who died Monday morning, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the residence, 1830 West Second street, and at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church conducted by the student pastor, Ralph Linquist. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Schmidt, George Rhue, Lawrence Harry, Francis Kapp, James Olinger and Clifford riley. The body will be removed from Johnson's funeral chapel to the home this afternoon. Wapello Lodge No. 12, Knights of Pythias and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen will conduct services at the grave.
