Veteran Morrell Worker Is Called
Frank M. Cox, 73, of 414 Hamilton street, died at 12:05 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital following a lingering illness. He was born August 27, 1869, in Ft. Scott, Kansas and had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 53 years. He retired from the service at John Morrell & Co. in 1939 after 47 years employment there. He was a long time member of the East End Presbyterian church, where he served as an elder for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura B. Cox one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Richards of Waterloo, and one son Donald Cox of Ottumwa. He is survived by one half sister and by seven half brothers, Will, Noah, Des Moines, Andrew Noah, Glendale, California; Roy Cox, Bert Cox, Archie Cox, Alonzo Cox, Earl Cox and Mrs. Hazel Andrews all of Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the East End Presbyterian church in charge of the Rev. George T. Hubbard with burial in the Shaul cemetery. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until noon Monday, when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the services.
