James William Murdock, 81, of 122 1/2 East Third street, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday at his home. He was born in Fairfield, but had lived in Ottumwa for the past 44 years. He had been in the plumbing business here for 25 years, but retired six years ago. Surviving is a son, Glenn E. of Ottumwa. His wife Ellen, preceded him in death, as did a son and a daughter. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
