Mrs. Clara Sweeney,45, wife of Lawrence Sweeney, 109 North Davis Street, died at her home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, after a long illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Schwartz, born January 16, 1896 in Ottumwa. She and Mr. Sweeney were married February 12, 1923. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church. Besides her husband she is survived by here parents, two sisters, Mrs. Bert McGraw and Mrs. Herman Ostdick of Ottumwa, and a brother Paul Schwartz of Los Angeles. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the home, and a 9 a.m. at the St. Patrick's church, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rev. T.C. Donohoe. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Members of the parish will meet at the home at 8 p.m. today to recite the rosary. The body was to be taken from the Vaughan funeral chapel to the home at 4 p.m.
