Mrs. Alice J. Armstrong a life long resident of the Tioga community until the last seven years, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the T.O. Palmer home, Ottumwa route 4. She had been ill for a year. Surviving are a daughter and two sons; Mrs. Elizabeth Sheely, Fairmont, Minnesota; Ora Armstrong, Ottumwa, and J.M. Armstrong, Merigold, Mississippi. Also surviving are a brother, Jerry Taylor, Joplin, Missouri; two half brothers, Shadrick Taylor, Rose Hill and William Taylor, Blue Earth Minnesota, 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, William in 1925, a son, O.E. and a daughter, Margaret. Funeral services for Mrs. Alice J. Armstrong, 62, who died at the T.O. Palmer home, Ottumwa route 4 at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Tioga church. Mrs. Armstrong had been a lifelong resident of the Tioga community. The body was taken from the Community Funeral service chapel to the church at the hour of services. Burial was in the Tioga cemetery.
