C.L. McMinn Veteran Bank Employee Dies
Heart Attack Fatal To Native Ottumwan
Charles L. McMinn, 56, clerk at the Union Bank & Trust Co. died suddenly at his home, 557 Ottumwa street at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday. Death was said to be due to a heart attack. Mr. McMinn was widely known in Ottumwa. He had worked in banks in this city of 37 years. He was formerly with the Ottumwa Savings bank, later with the Ottumwa National bank. He was born in Ottumwa, October 15, 1884 the son of Emma and Minor McMinn. he had lived in the city all his life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Elks club. Surviving are his wife, Nina, a daughter, Jean, a son Rex, of Woodland, California and a brother, Robert T. McMinn, Brownsville, Texas. The body is at the Lester Jay funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Charles L. McMinn, who died Wednesday evening at his home, 557 Ottumwa street, are to be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church. the Rev. Richard Paul Graebel will be in charge. The body will be taken from the Lester Jay funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday, where it will lie in state until 3 p.m., at which time the casket will be closed. Burial will be in the Agency cemetery.
