Former Poultry Co-op Head Dies In East.

Samuel Jesse Robertson, 49, former manager of the Iowa Poultry Producers Marketing association here, died in Snow Hill, Maryland last Monday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Robertson came to Ottumwa late in 1936 to assume manager-ship of the co-operative poultry plant. He remained in the position until January 1938, leaving to form a poultry brokerage firm in Chicago. Prior to accepting the Ottumwa post, Mr. Robertson had been a high-ranking executive of the Armour Packing Co. He had been associated with the poultry industry throughout his adult life. At the time of his death he was operating a brokerage business throughout the eastern states. He was born in Montrose, Colorado, August 4, 1891. Several years of his youth were spent in Ottumwa. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Robertson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughters, Jean Frances of Minneapolis, Mrs. J.M. Bradbury of Hinsdale, Illinois, and Mrs. H.E. Rouse Jr. of Mundelein, Illinois; son, J.R. Robertson of Coon Rapids and two granddaughters, Judith Lynn Bradbury and Nancy Ann Robertson. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lester Jay funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Harold Lancaster. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
