Gladys Morris, 41 of 111 1/2 West Main street, died at Ottumwa hospital Monday night at midnight. She was the daughter of Bert and Ida Phillips and was born at Bussey April 8, 1899.She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 35 years. She was a member of Wesley Methodist church and of the Home Builders class and a former member of the Epworth League. She had been forth vice president, having had charge of all recreational work in the Ottumwa district. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Phillips of Ottumwa; brothers Roy and Lawrence of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services for Gladys Morris of 111 1/2 West Main street, who died at Ottumwa hospital Monday at midnight will be held in the Wesley Methodist church Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. J.B. Johnson, pastor. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The body will be at Johnson's funeral chapel until Thursday at 11:30 a.m. when it will be taken to the church. Pallbearers will be George Smith, D.W. Lentz, David Luke, Frank Barker, Harold Judd and Joe Albright.
