AL FARRINGTON
Albert L. "Al" Farrington, 60, of 1545 Bladensburg Road, died the morning of May 17 at the Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born April 30, 1922, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Edward and Effie Saller Farrington. A life-time Ottumwa resident, he graduated from Ottumwa High in 1943. A World Was II Army veteran, he worked for John Morrell and Co. until retiring. He was a member of Forst Christian Church, Empire Masonic Lodge No. 269, and Knights of Pythias No. 350 in Douds. He married Martha Louise Elsensohn November 10, 1943. Survivors; his wife; sons Al Dean of Bradenton, Florida, and William Lee of Ottumwa, Iowa; daughters Lisa Bitner of Bradenton, Florida, and Sherri of Ottumwa; three grandchildren; brothers Ed and Don of Ottumwa and Clare of Albia; and a sister, Elsie Sarver of Fremont. Service: 1pm Thursday at Reese Funeral Home, the Rev. Neil Guy, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery with O.B. Nelson Post No. 3 American Legion in charge of the military rites. Masonic service: 7:30 pm Wednesday.
